ATPCO, the airline industry’s leading source for airline merchandising and pricing data, announced today the appointment of Karen Slinger as the new Chair of its Board of Directors. Karen currently serves as Director of Revenue Management at British Airways and brings over 25 years of aviation experience to this leadership role.
Throughout her tenure at British Airways, Karen has held a variety of senior management positions across Commercial, Finance, Operational Planning, and Cabin Crew leadership. In her current role, she oversees implementing a new revenue management system, advancing price optimization strategies, and investing in modern airline retailing solutions.
ATPCO has been on a journey of transformation since Alex Zoghlin came on board as President and CEO in January 2021. This year, as the company commemorates its 60th anniversary, ATPCO is making significant progress with its Product Catalog solution, which is a pivotal step toward enabling 80% of airline offers being dynamically created by the end of 2026. It will translate and maintain data between both dynamic and traditional offers, allowing perfect interoperability among and within airlines balancing these methods.
“ATPCO plays a crucial role in driving innovation and efficiency in airline pricing and retailing, ensuring the industry evolves. I am honored to take on the role of Chair of the Board at ATPCO during this transformative period in the aviation industry,” said Karen Slinger. “I look forward to collaborating with the Board and the ATPCO team to support the evolving needs of airlines and travelers worldwide.”
ATPCO President and CEO Alex Zoghlin expressed his enthusiasm for Karen’s appointment: “Karen’s extensive experience and visionary leadership in revenue management make her an excellent choice to lead our Board. Her insights will be invaluable as we continue to develop solutions that enhance airline retailing and distribution.”
Karen succeeds Maarten van der Lei, SVP Pricing & Revenue Management, who has moved to a new role at KLM Royal Dutch Airlines. He served as Chair since April 2023. The Board extends its gratitude to Maarten for his dedicated service and leadership.
