ATPCO Boosts Retailing and Distribution Teams with the Addition of Two New Directors

DULLES, VIRGINIA – May 9, 2019 – ATPCO announced two new additions to its leadership team to support the organization’s road to transformation and modernization. Travel industry executive Becky Tatum has joined ATPCO as Director of Retailing, and industry newcomer Darie Dreptate has been appointed as Director of Distribution.

Tatum, who joins ATPCO from Sabre, will lead the organization’s Retailing business, which includes Routehappy Rich Content, Branded Fares, and Optional Services. Tatum has over 30 years’ experience in the travel industry, beginning her career with American Airlines and spending the last 18 years leading development, product management, product marketing, and business operations at Sabre, with ten of those years focusing on Air Merchandising and Retailing.

Dreptate joins ATPCO to head up its Distribution product portfolio, which includes API distribution of fares. Dreptate, who has more than 15 years of experience leading Lean, Agile, and DevOps practices for multiple companies and industries, including higher education and business intelligence, brings fresh insight and perspective to ATPCO and the airline industry. The dual focus on APIs and fare data is designed to drive innovation across distribution using a lean transformation approach that leverages Dreptate’s extensive expertise in this area. He previously served as head of engineering EAB, with responsibility for the organization’s Data and Analytics products. Prior to that, he led Microstrategy’s DevOps transformation as head of global development operations.

Tatum and Dreptate will report directly to ATPCO’s Chief Product Officer, Jaivin Anzalota. According to Anzalota, “Both Becky and Darie will be instrumental in driving the modernization of ATPCO products. By infusing the technology leadership that Darie brings to ATPCO with Becky’s decades of airline industry product experience, ATPCO is blending its industry knowledge with new ideas and best practices.”

ATPCO continues to evolve quickly. Since October 2016, more than 40% of senior leaders are new to the 54-year old company, including the Routehappy executive team following the startup’s 2018 acquisition by ATPCO. The investment in new leadership is playing an important part in executing on the company’s strategy to lead airlines, systems, and channels into the next generation of retailing. 

With support from ATPCO’s growing leadership team, the organization has produced several recent successes, including many companies going live with the emerging Next Generation Storefront (NGS)TM standards for content display, like TripActions and TravelBank; ATPCO’s development of multiple NDC-ready APIs, including NDC Exchange; and its continuing development of Dynamic Pricing solutions with various pilots completed.
