Former Sabre and Jeppesen ForeFlight Executive brings significant airline and travel industry leadership experience to the role
ATPCO today announced the appointment of Brett Burgess as its new President & Chief Executive Officer. A seasoned leader whose career across airline distribution, enterprise software and mission-critical aviation technology positions him to launch the next chapter for the organization.
Burgess joins ATPCO after serving as General Manager of Jeppesen ForeFlight, previously a Boeing company, where he led a global business line with responsibility for full P&L, delivering sustained double-digit growth. Before his role as General Manager, Burgess was Jeppesen ForeFlight’s Chief Product Officer. His career also includes senior leadership roles at Sabre and a foundation of high impact consulting at Bain & Company.
Burgess first encountered the role ATPCO plays in the industry early in his career while leading shopping product responsibilities at Sabre, where he saw firsthand the complexity of coordinating pricing data and standards across hundreds of airlines. “ATPCO sits at the intersection of data, technology, and industry trust,” shared Burgess. “This is an organization built on deep institutional knowledge and complex challenges, and the opportunity to evolve such a vital cornerstone of modern airline retailing is incredibly exciting.”
Burgess brings a uniquely holistic perspective to ATPCO, shaped by experience across both airline retailing and operations. A powerful combination as the company continues to drive the enablement of modern airline retailing for the industry.
The ATPCO Board of Directors echoed strong confidence in his vision. “Brett’s the right leader at the right time to guide ATPCO forward. He brings with him a rare blend of innovation focus, operational rigor and deep industry expertise,” said Karen Slinger, Chair of the ATPCO Board of Directors. “He understands that delivering value to airlines and travelers requires balancing innovation with operational trust and reliability.”
“The true value an airline delivers to travelers goes beyond pricing and revenue management,” Burgess added. “It’s the promise of getting passengers safely and efficiently to their destinations at a price they value. Retailing and operations are two sides of the same coin, and real progress comes from respecting the balance between them.”
He also highlighted the incredible potential within ATPCO’s people and data, calling them a “goldmine” of intelligence essential to navigating industry change and unlocking new value for customers.
Burgess officially steps into the CEO role today and will be based in Denver.
