Own Prorate Exchange

What is Own Prorate Exchange Switched?
  • Switched data will be bilaterally agreed prorate information that is exchanged between interline partners.
What is Own Prorate Exchange Stored?
  • Stored data will be bilaterally agreed prorate information that is both exchanged between interline partners and stored on COMPASS® for future retrieval.
Benefits of Own Prorate Exchange
  • Airlines will be able to exchange their own prorate results with interline partners, reducing the cost of interline settlement.
  • Airlines who can exchange their prorate information can then take advantage of the benefit of the cost-saving Billing Value Confirmation and Billing Value Determination processes, and implementation is even easier.
About Own Prorate Exchange
  • Airlines will be able to utilize the existing A&A infrastructure to facilitate the exchange of prorate values between interline partners.
    • This process will use the existing ISR (Industry Sales Record) infrastructure and record layout.
    • The existing connectivity to ARC COMPASS® will be available.
  • The issuing airline will be responsible for generating the proration results and forwarding them to A&A for distribution to the interline partner.
  • Airlines can either store the transactions for retrieval upon lift by using the Billing Value Determination process, or “switch” the transactions directly to their interline partner at time of sale.
  • Airlines can also use the Billing Value Confirmation process, which validates that the values being billed match the values supplied by the ticket issuing airlines.
